The Ubuntu 9.10 is released yesterday. I downloaded and installed it immediately after my finishing work.
As Ubuntu team said “it is a linux for human-beings”, the UI looks nicer than previous versions, as usual.
I took some installation screenshots:
I want to share with you guys few things I noticed.
- It includes Ubuntu one — a cloud service of Ubuntu. I guess it will similar to Microsoft Office Live and Apple MobileMe.
- It supports two-finger scrolling now. I know the driver for “ordinary” computers was out for a while. But I didn’t know Ubuntu will implement it officially. Usually I will disable my touch pad so that it won’t mess up my codes. But for this, I should reenable it

That is the good. Bad things (tiny issues) are
- There’s a problem with the notifications I guess. It looks like some of them will display out of place.

- My graphic card is still not working well.
Overall I like this new release. Hope you guys think so as well. Anyway, it is just my first glance of Ubuntu 9.10.
Have to go to bed now. Open source ROCKS! Goodnight! ![]()
